Bernard Chiu founded Upland Capital following the successful IPO and sale of his first company, Duracraft Corporation, to Honeywell. As Chairman, he remains closely involved in all aspects of the firm, guiding its vision, strategy, and long-term direction.

Since establishing Upland Capital in the late 1990s, he has built a carefully curated portfolio of distinctive mixed-use commercial properties in Boston’s Back Bay, Cambridge, and Harvard Square, as well as two exceptional golf courses. Most recently, he led the acquisition and thoughtful restoration of the iconic Harbor View Hotel on Martha’s Vineyard.
